CCR and IQ and Conan

No, not Creedence Clearwater Revival. Cardiocerebral resuscitation. And yes, I am writing a post about this. Don’t worry, there’s other irrelevant stuff too.

Anyway, I heard today on NPR that Madison is changing their policy with first responders to use CCR instead of CPR.

The main difference is that instead of alternating breaths and chest compressions, CCR is just chest compressions delivered uninterrupted. Apparently studies have shown that it is only the compressions are the sustaining component of the entire thing; the breaths just delay the continuous circulation of blood, supposedly decreasing the critical oxygen supply to the brain.

In other news, I don’t know how many of the readers here are gamers, but I wonder how many of you know of the game “Intelligent Qube.” It is by far one of my favorite games, and one of the early games on the first Playstation. I started playing it again after needing a break from all the FPS games I’ve been submerged under (Bioshock, COD 4, Halo 3, and about 20 minutes of Gears of War).

This game is awesome.

I can’t really explain it well, so here’s a video:

And speaking of videos, with regards to my post a while ago about Conan’s return, here’s a tangible example of what he’s been doing:

It’s basically the entire episode, but you can just watch the first few minutes. I tried to embed it, but sorry, it didn’t work.

As I’m writing this, Conan is on:

2008 is truly already a year of wonders.

Nice, I forgot I even signed up for Hulu beta.

So is that where that meme comes from? 5000 POINT GET

  2. Comment by Kevin:

*anything* GET is just like…a Japanese thing. I’ve seen it in games, on tv shows, and on advertisements. It’s pretty goofy; “BONUS GET!” But it’s always pronounced “GET-o.”
