Cruise: Day 4 – Hubbard Glacier

Day 4 of the cruise was spent at sea again, but with a stop by the Hubbard Glacier.  It was the north-most point of the cruise, and we began our crawl back down the coast to Seattle afterward.

Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson has been working behind closed doors for the past few years producing some very intriguing projects. Most people, I assume, have heard of District 9 (video 1), but he also has Daybreakers (video 2) lined up for an early release next year. Check them both out, as Hollywood is in bad need of original concepts, what with it really scraping the bottom of the barrel in comic-book adaptations and unoriginal remakes.

A Classic

Every six months or so, I stumble upon this clip, which is my favorite SNL skit of all time. I don’t like it because it’s any good, or because of the people in it, but rarely is skit so funny it causes the cast to go up–especially with SNL’s heavy fines for actors forgetting lines/breaking character.  So for those who haven’t seen Debbie Downer in Disneyworld, do enjoy…

Day 3 of my Alaskan cruise was our day at the capital port city, Juneau.  At each port during the cruise, there are ‘excursions’: various activities you sign up and pay for in advance through the cruise line.

Cigar Humidors 101

All righty, for the past year or so, I’ve started a little vice that is cigar smoking. Now, first things first: don’t smoke regularly, you’ll get cancer. I smoke a cigar maybe every other month depending on holidays and vacations. I treat it like drinking alcohol, although I guess you can be a bit more liberal with alcohol than tobacco.
