Thanks, again, Mr. Deity

Posted on Thursday, January 31st, 2008 at 11:00 am.

Edit: New picture

So yesterday I posted about a personal deity/god/angel/guy watching me on CCTV that was fulfilling my wishes by combining my favorite things (Hockey and Ireland). Well He’s done it again.

So I have been obsessing over the game Assassin’s Creed ever since Kevin told me about it. For those of you that don’t know about it, you get to run around fully realized cities from about 800 years ago: Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus. Sweet. I however, only have Wii, and my PC is crappy, so barring Kevin giving me a 360 Elite (*hint* Kevin, *hint*), I have no way of playing it.

Buy Me!

As anyone who knows me knows, I obsess about hockey nearly 24/7. I love my hometown team more than just about anything in the world, evidenced by the fact that I named our new bird after our [now backup] goaltender. After hockey, I am incredibly aware of and proud of my Irish heritage, and Irish history is a hobby of mine. Until now, the two have never really mixed (although believe me, if NHL stood for National Hurling League, I would probably watch it just as much as I do hockey). But then, while browsing the Avs’ official message board that I moderate (aka babysit), I saw this:

Scary, Indiana

Let’s get this straight: I love Bloomington, Indiana. It’s a great city, with a great school. Indiana University pretty much has none of the faults that I consistently disliked Northwestern for. It’s a great college town, and incredibly CHEAP.

A Comment

Update, 1/29: Pretty much all settled; a few of the older posts are still referencing images on the old host, but that can be done later.

Almost a month into the new year now, I figured it would be time to elevate things; I’ve purchased a domain, and will be moving to my own space soon. Hopefully the transition will be handled smoothly within a week.

Granted, Niels has been an excellent host; I have no doubts that I’ve used this hosting much more than he has. I’m not even sure when the last time he visited my site (or his own) was.

As most of you know, I fervently advertise my site primarily by putting it up in my away message whenever a new post is put up, usually followed by a short description. I am confident that my comment of “Alison’s first post!” was the cause for the record number of hits in one day. Speaking of hits, we’ve surpassed 1000! And yes, I have my counter to ignore my own visits.

Today Kevin invited me to write on this site, and since my last journal has been dead for the past 9+ months, I thought it would be nice to write random junk again! Also, I have run out of stuff that I want to study for tonight, have jittery fingers, and saw that this other person I know recently started a blog that is retarded, but for some reason it made me want to write too. Though now I’m getting a little sleepy… maybe I will also be a retarded blogger?

It appears that Kevin had just stolen my boyfriend from me for the night: Call of Duty > Call from Alison

Kevin always includes entertaining pictures, and Kevin is Korean (I did not know that until… sometime long after I met him) and so here is a picture I found entertaining (and self-esteem boosting!) from a Korean restaurant, as a tribute to him. Now I will sleep. Goodnight!

A Quick Note

Edit: Giants won, 23-20, OT. Incredible.

Just thought this was worth mentioning:

Lower than Evanston ever was.

I don’t know how many of you follow football, but tomorrow is the NFC championship game between the Giants and Packers. Arguably the cold will give the Packers a bigger advantage here at Lambeau, but who knows.

No, not Creedence Clearwater Revival. Cardiocerebral resuscitation. And yes, I am writing a post about this. Don’t worry, there’s other irrelevant stuff too.
